Stories worth telling
I’m Nick Voaden, a video journalist and camera operator from Kent. I make films about real people, and I’m just as happy behind the camera as part of a crew.
01About
I’m a video journalist and filmmaker from Kent with a passion for visual storytelling. I’ve always cared more about the people in a story than the headline.
I trained as a video journalist (I’m NCTJ-qualified) and have worked with Digitom as part of the crew, filming everything from a TV commercial for Hoarder Healthcare to on-location pieces with the British Transport Police. I’ve also covered headline comedy shows and made short films for festivals.
Much of my work keeps circling back to the war in Ukraine. In 2022 I made What We Saw for Fight for Freedom, a film raising money for Ukrainian refugees and telling the stories of people who had fled the war. In 2025 I travelled to Ukraine itself, helping drive an evacuation vehicle 1,318 miles to the front line, documenting the journey and raising money for Driving Ukraine. Wherever I point the camera, I’m after the same thing: a moment of profound humanity.

03Kind words
With a journalism qualification and a strong commitment to visual storytelling, Nick brings energy, focus and care to every production.
Working within our editorial framework, his contribution is shaped by curiosity and a belief in giving space to perspectives that are not always heard.
Since joining our team in 2021, he has supported the majority of our communications, combining reliability on set with sound judgement and his own experience filming alongside charities operating in complex environments, including projects responding to the war in Ukraine.
Nick has worked as an assistant to me on a couple of shoots now, one for a high end web commercial and another for a corporate interview. Both times he has been an asset to the production, willing to get stuck in with a variety of tasks. He is enthusiastic, keen to learn and always maintains an air of professionalism around clients.
